GamePlan Press Releases Business Book on Intelligent Risks
“You suppress risk-taking and you kill innovation,” warns author
Alexandria, VA – January 19, 2011 – Five-time skydiving world-record holder Jim McCormick offers specific tips on intelligent risk-taking in GamePlan to Harness the Power of Risk, a new release from GamePlan Press. McCormick’s title is one of the first five offered by GamePlan Press (www.gameplanpress.com), a new ebook publisher specializing in succinct business and career books.
“How we navigate risks¾whether we call them opportunity, adventure, or danger¾determines our course in life,” says McCormick. Many of us realize that much of life has passed us by as we protected ourselves from the calculated risks that could have delivered challenge, wealth, opportunity, and success.”
The book includes tools such as a “personal risk profile” to help readers determine their individual Risk Quotient (RQ), learn to analyze opportunities with a fresh perspective, and implement strategies that will upgrade decision-making. GamePlan to Harness the Power of Risk helps develop fundamental business skills such as using a system McCormick calls POSEMs, that is, Possibility of Success Enhancement Measures, as well as exploiting the Strength/Weakness Paradox.
Jim McCormick is an accomplished business executive and a world-class skydiver. He is a former Chief Operating Officer of the fifth largest architectural firm in the United States and holds an engineering degree from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine. He served in Washington, D.C. as a member of a Presidential administration where he ultimately became the first non-attorney in the history of the U.S. Department of Energy to serve as Special Assistant to the General Counsel. A skydiver with more than 3,200 jumps and five skydiving World Records to his credit, McCormick was also a member of an international expedition that skydived to the North Pole. Companies large and small have him skydiving into their events and present his customized program for managing and optimizing risk.
